[MRANTI Webinar] National AI in Healthcare Series: Responsible AI, Governance & Healthcare Policy
Overview
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is moving rapidly from experimentation into real-world use, and Malaysia is taking important steps to shape how AI is developed, governed and trusted. In March 2026, Malaysia introduced the MY-AI Standards, providing a framework to support the development of trusted and responsible AI, with greater emphasis on transparency, traceability, accountability and responsible adoption.
In healthcare, the need for responsible AI is even more critical. As AI becomes increasingly relevant to clinical practice, decision-making and patient care, healthcare professionals must consider not only what AI can do, but also whether it is safe, reliable, ethical and appropriate for use. The Malaysian Medical Council’s Guideline on the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medical Practice highlights key considerations including patient safety, human oversight, transparency, accountability, privacy and data protection.
As AI moves from innovation to implementation, the question is no longer simply whether we can use AI, but how we can use it responsibly. This session will explore Responsible AI in healthcare, with a focus on Malaysia’s evolving governance and policy landscape. The discussion will examine how clinical evidence, health technology assessment, patient safety, transparency, accountability, bias, privacy and trust can shape better AI adoption decisions, while addressing the practical considerations of moving AI solutions from pilot projects towards real-world healthcare implementation.
This webinar is part of the National AI in Healthcare Innovation Series 2026, a six-month national initiative jointly organised by DGA Healthcare Group in collaboration with MRANTI and the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). The series brings together healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, innovators, startups, and industry partners to strengthen knowledge sharing, encourage collaboration, and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across Malaysia’s healthcare ecosystem.
