Peptify Mist’s competitive advantage lies in its use of bioactive peptides derived from watermelon rind, combined with collagen-supporting and antioxidant-rich ingredients to deliver not only hydration but also functional skin repair and structural support. Unlike conventional facial mists that primarily offer temporary, water-based moisture, this formulation provides enhanced skin conditioning and revitalisation benefits. In addition, the upcycling of watermelon rind as a key cosmeceutical ingredient strengthens its sustainability credentials and positions the product as an innovative, value-added solution within the competitive skincare market.

Modern skincare users are increasingly exposed to environmental stressors such as pollution, UV radiation, air conditioning, and prolonged screen time, which contribute to skin dehydration, reduced elasticity, and overall loss of skin vitality. However, many existing facial mists provide only temporary hydration and do not contain sufficient bioactive ingredients to actively support skin repair or structural improvement. There is therefore a need for a functional skincare solution that delivers effective, fast-absorbing hydration while also utilising sustainable, bioactive ingredients derived from natural and upcycled sources.

The project solution is a peptide-rich facial mist formulation that combines bioactive compounds from watermelon rind with collagen-based and skin-supporting ingredients to enhance hydration and skin renewal. Watermelon rind extracts provide natural peptides, amino acids, and antioxidants that promote skin vitality, while hydrolysed collagen and eggshell membrane extract support elasticity and structural strength. Moisturising agents such as glycerin and trehalose help maintain skin hydration, and the fine micro mist delivery system ensures rapid absorption, even distribution, and instant skin refreshment with sustained bioactive benefits.

The innovation of the project lies in the development of a peptide-rich, multifunctional facial mist that transforms watermelon rind, an underutilised agricultural by-product, into a high-value cosmeceutical ingredient. By combining bioactive compounds from watermelon rind with collagen-based and skin-supporting ingredients, the formulation delivers more than temporary hydration, offering enhanced skin repair, resilience, and revitalisation. Unlike conventional facial mists, it integrates fast-absorbing micro mist delivery with functional bioactive benefits, while also promoting sustainability through the upcycling of food waste into an effective skincare solution.
