Cosmeceutical products such as perfumes, sunscreens, anti-ageing creams, and moisturisers often face limitations in performance, including short-lasting fragrance, reduced effectiveness over time, and suboptimal skin protection and hydration. There is a growing need for more advanced formulations that can enhance product longevity and improve functional benefits for better skin care outcomes.

The project introduces the incorporation of nanocellulose into cosmeceutical formulations to enhance their performance and longevity. Nanocellulose acts as a functional carrier and stabilising agent, helping perfumes retain their scent for longer, improving sunscreen protection, enhancing the effectiveness of anti-ageing creams in reducing wrinkles, and supporting moisturisers in maintaining long-lasting skin hydration.
