In the oil and gas sector, accurate prediction of cement compressive strength is crucial for ensuring well integrity and operational safety. Existing non-destructive testing models are calibrated for OPC and fail to provide reliable results for geopolymer cement, leading to substantial prediction errors ranging from 30% to 90%. This inaccuracy hampers the adoption of geopolymer cement, despite its environmental benefits, due to concerns over performance reliability. The lack of a dedicated predictive model for geopolymer cement necessitates a solution that can provide accurate, non-destructive strength assessments to support its broader application in the industry.

The GeoPCEM Analyzer offers a tailored solution by integrating a novel algorithm specifically designed for geopolymer cement. This software corrects the prediction errors associated with OPC-based models, achieving an accuracy level with less than 20% deviation from actual compressive strength measurements . By providing precise, non-destructive strength predictions, the GeoPCEM Analyzer enables operators to optimise WOC times, potentially saving 4 to 5 hours per cementing operation, which translates to approximately USD 52,000 in savings per job. This efficiency not only reduces operational costs but also enhances the feasibility of using geopolymer cement in well operations.
