Graphene-enhanced Latex Gloves for Cleanroom Applications

The project’s competitive advantage is its improved performance over conventional latex gloves, offering strong chemical and puncture resistance for cleanroom use. It achieves higher tensile strength (26–28 MPa vs 10–20 MPa), excellent flexibility with up to 850% elongation, and maintains a lightweight design of about 4 grams while ensuring reliable barrier protection.
Natural rubber latex (NR) gloves, while widely used in the medical industry due to their comfort, biodegradability, and affordability, still face limitations in terms of performance, such as durability, strength, and resistance to wear and tear. In addition, there is a growing demand for medical gloves that offer enhanced protection and reliability without compromising cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability, particularly in emerging markets.
The project develops graphene-infused natural rubber latex gloves that improve strength, durability, and resistance to wear while maintaining comfort, affordability, and biodegradability. This creates a more reliable and sustainable medical glove solution.
The innovation of the project is the development of graphene-infused natural rubber latex gloves that enhance the strength, durability, and wear resistance of conventional latex gloves while maintaining comfort, affordability, and biodegradability. This provides a more reliable and sustainable medical glove solution, especially for emerging markets.
