The technology is modular, scalable, and easy to install within existing pipelines, significantly lowering capital expenditure compared to traditional hydropower. It reduces energy costs, improves infrastructure efficiency, and supports sustainability goals without requiring new land use or major environmental alterations, making it highly attractive to cities and industrial operators seeking practical renewable energy solutions.

Conventional hydropower systems require dams and large-scale infrastructure, making them capital-intensive, location-dependent, and environmentally disruptive. At the same time, water distribution networks in cities and industrial facilities often dissipate excess pressure through pressure-reducing valves, resulting in wasted energy and higher operational costs.

The in-pipe hydropower generation system captures excess pressure within existing water pipelines to generate renewable electricity without disrupting water supply. Featuring multiple nozzles and a smart bypass mechanism, the system maintains smooth water flow while producing power. Its modular design allows seamless integration into current municipal and industrial water networks, generating up to 60 kW under varying flow conditions.

The system transforms conventional water infrastructure into decentralised energy-generating assets by replacing energy-dissipating components with energy-harvesting technology. The integration of a smart bypass system ensures operational stability and adaptability across different flow rates and pressure conditions, eliminating the need for dams or major structural modifications.
