Polylactic Acid Nanofibre Film Loaded with Cymbopogon Nardus

Unlike conventional plastic packaging, this film is biodegradable and incorporates natural antibacterial agents. Its nanofibre structure provides a higher surface area, enhancing contact with microbes and improving antibacterial effectiveness.
Food contamination caused by bacterial growth can significantly reduce the shelf life of products and pose potential health risks to consumers. At the same time, the widespread use of conventional plastic packaging contributes to environmental pollution due to its non-biodegradable nature and long decomposition period.
The PLA nanofibre film is produced using electrospinning and incorporates natural antibacterial compounds extracted from Cymbopogon nardus (citronella). These bioactive compounds are gradually released from the film, helping to inhibit bacterial growth on the surface of packaged food and extend its freshness.
