[MRANTI Webinar] National AI in Healthcare Series: AI in Clinical Practice & Decision Support
Overview
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly moving from experimentation into real-world clinical practice. Recent developments in AI-powered clinical decision support demonstrate growing potential to assist healthcare professionals in areas such as diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment planning, and patient monitoring. In Malaysia, this direction is also gaining momentum, with the Ministry of Health’s MOH Digitalisation Strategic Plan 2026–2030 highlighting the development of AI Clinical Decision Support as part of Malaysia’s broader digital healthcare transformation.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare, the key question is no longer simply what AI can do, but how it can be effectively and responsibly applied to support clinical practice and decision-making. This session will explore real-world applications of AI in clinical settings, including its potential to support clinicians, improve clinical workflows, and enhance patient care. The discussion will also examine the opportunities and limitations of AI, while addressing important considerations such as clinical judgement, patient safety, data quality, ethics, transparency, accountability, and trust.
This webinar is part of the National AI in Healthcare Innovation Series 2026, a six-month national initiative jointly organised by DGA Healthcare Group in collaboration with MRANTI and the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). The series brings together healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, innovators, startups, and industry partners to strengthen knowledge sharing, encourage collaboration, and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across Malaysia's healthcare ecosystem.
